500 sweaters of Loes
I found such a sweet project and a beautiful book today. Loes Veenstra from the Tweede Carnissestraat in Rotterdam has knit five hundred jumpers since 1955. She kept them at home and in the flashmob Het Verzameld Breiwerk van Loes Veenstra from Christien Meindertsma was the first time that people had them on. I love this project for the authenticity of it. It’s a normal person who is special, without realising it.
It’s quite special that designer Christien Meindertsma was the winner in the category Best Autonomous Design at the Dutch Design Week with a project in which she narrates the life and works of someone else. It’s a very humbling project and a beautiful project about design in the daily life.
